A New Audi With Virtual Cockpit Looks Incredible While Keeping You Safe

One problem with modern infotainment systems is that you often have to take your eyes off the road to use them while driving. While some automakers have made their systems inaccessible while in motion, Audi’s introduction of Virtual Cockpit on models like the new A3, A4, A5, Q5, and Q7 bypasses this need entirely by offering infotainment functionality in your instrument cluster.

Above, you’ll find a video showcasing this new feature in the 2017 A4. The high-resolution TFT display uses an NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor, which you’ll find in the best tablets and smart phones, and enables smooth, easy use. Better yet, it’s quite easy to use. Thanks to controls on the left of the steering wheel, you can switch between Classic and Infotainment view, the latter of which puts maps, apps, and other functions between the speedometer and tachometer. It’s the perfect way to manage your car’s functions on the fly without your eyes straying from the road ahead.
